The exhibition, Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 — Speed and Warmness, was showcased at the Red Dot Design Museum Xiamen in April of 2019. This marked the first instance where the Red Dot Award: Communication Design showcased its comprehensive award-winning works in China.
The exhibition featured over 700 award-winning works from 35 countries, exhibited through graphic images, physical objects, multimedia presentations, and interactive experiences. Notably, the exhibition presented 7 Red Dot: Grand Prix winners and 50 Red Dot: Best of the Best winners.
Inspired by Dr. Peter Zec’s reflections on the 2018 Red Dot Award: Communication Design, I titled the exhibition Speed and Warmness (速度与温度). The exhibition seeks to capture the sense of “speed” through cutting-edge technological innovations and digital advancements, while also promoting the notion of “warmness” through diverse themes in communication design—ranging from social and cultural issues to human rights and environmental concerns—in order to raise public awareness of these pressing global topics.
